There have been several very conflicting posts regarding the alleged molestation of a minor by a supposed member of the Fort Hood Open Circle.  The most recent is forward from “MoonGlade” claiming that no criminal charges have been filed against anyone in this matter.  This is a false and misleading statement.
We have interviewed the custodial parent of the victim (the individual who brought charges against Wilson), a representative of the Fort Hood Chaplain’s office, and other interested parties regarding this situation.  In addition, we have reviewed the report in the Killeen Daily Herald and other relevant documentation.
The following is true and correct to the best of our knowledge, but, as always, we urge anyone with interest to verify these facts for themselves.
Sgt. James Ray Wilson has been read formal charges by the United States Military.  He is being charged with Rape, Sodomy, and indecent acts with a child under 12. There will be an Article 32 hearing (the equivalent of a civilian Grand Jury hearing ) January 6, 1998.
There have been delays in this case caused by the untimely death of Wilson’s attorney.
Charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault where originally filed against Wilson through the Copperas Cove Police Department  (see Killeen Daily Herald, Police Bulletins, Sept.. 20, 1997 at www.kdh.com) .  When the case reached the District Attorney’s office it was turned over to Military authorities.  Wilson faces much severer penalties in the Military justice system then he did in the civilian legal system.
Further details must be withheld at this time to insure that Wilson gets a fair and impartial trial.
PLEASE NOTE: James Ray Wilson is presumed innocent until proven guilty!!
We will report the results of the January 6  hearing  as soon as they become available.
Wilson’s actual relationship with the Fort Hood Open Circle is still unclear at this time.  There seems to be NO substantiation to the rumor that a Wiccan Ritual played any part in the alleged molestation.
There seems to be NO connection alleged between the molestation and Wicca or Paganism.
The Fort Hood Open Circle appears to continue to enjoy excellent relations with the Fort Hood Chaplains Service.
