Bekki Shining Bearheart and Crow Swimsaway have been teaching about shamanism since 1982 at universities, conferences, religious institutions,  festivals and gatherings throughout the Midwest and Eastern U.S., and Britain , and have taught a variety of advanced workshops in shamanism since 1989. They began intensive shamanic work with their ancestors including teaching a course focused on ancestor work (Circle of the Ancestors) in 1994. Bekki and Crow have studied with several native shamans including Dona Andrea Rios (Huichol), Ailu Gaup (Sami) and Sarangarel (Buryat/Mongolian).  Bekki has worked extensively with Ailu Gaup.

In addition to his experiential explorations of shamanism Crow is also an anthropologist (Master's from the University of Chicago and Ph.D. from LSE,  London University). Bekki is a licensed massage therapist and has degrees in Art and Art Education from Ohio University in Athens OH.
