You've permission to publish the following:

As far as I can remember, (going back 10 years?) I've never had an easy time
with CompUSA here in Manhattan, NYC.

So much so, that I took it upon myself 4 years ago to advise everyone I knew
How they should never purchase anything there larger than a
bread-box.....since doing so would only bring onto them trouble. 'and I've a
slew of horror stories to share, which I won't right now.

Reason I ever return is because they DO have good deals once in awhile, but
last night I accompanied a friend who wanted to purchase a keyboard desk
drawer (which in fact went against my own better judgement).

As if it weren't bad enough that their salespeople hand out misinformation
like candy in a dime store, as if it weren't bad enough that their own
management know not what they do....they've continued to lack in service
when it came time to looking after the customer once money has been
exchanged.

As if it weren't bad enough over the past several years that you could walk
into the store and walk out with a $200 piece of hardware (smaller than a
bread-box), carrying such item in a cheap see-through bag which could barely
make it to the corner, THINGS ONLY GET WORSE!

Well, my friend and I left the cash register with keyboard tray in hand with
no packaging at all, but instead heading to the lower street level at the
instruction of employees on the 2nd floor to get the item packaged or at
least roped. All we were greeted with downstairs was disrespect and the
royal passing of the buck.

"there's the rope" said the girl down below.
"and here's the box" said I.

Boy, what a mistake. That little exchange created 3 minutes worth of havoc
and heated argument. The girl refused to wrap the box in rope and hung onto
her idea that wrapping such items is the customer's job. We were civil and
cordial at best, whereas the girl was rude and loyal to her fast-food-reject
status as Finally, we'd gotten a simple bag which didn't even cover the
length of what we'd purchased.

My friend and I left in total astonishment. I mean, I've come across alot of
A-holes in NYC, but nothing like this. This went above and beyond anything
I'd ever experienced.

So, what is it? Mis-management? People who just don't give a damn?
Disgruntled employees? I don't know. Since I get better service at my local
Supermarket where folks there earn I'm sure far less than what these
substandard employees at CompUSA earn.

All I can say, is that, I WILL return to CompUSA, but only to prove a point
or two. I foresee many instances where there at the counter, I'll leave the
cashier with a heap of products after being told "Uhhh, no sir, we don't
have any bags to handle that item" or "No Sir, you'll have to get that
wrapped downstairs".

'and there the cashier will be with this heap in the way after providing,
perhaps at the behest of management or policy, horrific service or that
customary "I don't give a shit, I just work here" attitude.
