In January '00 I ordered a $39.99 catalog item from the Damark web site.  They claimed to be having a special - no shipping or handling. The web site at check out showed total charges of $39.99 and the item arrived within a week with a receipt/invoice showing a total charge of $39.99 and $0.00 for S/H.

Two months later I found a charge for $5.00 on my VISA card for Damark order processing. I called to complain, only to be told that they tack on $5.00 to all catalog items ordered over the net. I searched the seb site high and low, and sure enough, under Customer Service hidden waaay down in the Terms and Conditions, under Customer Service Policies, in an area where noone would look, is the following: "for catalog orders placed on-line, the order processing fee shown on the catalog order form will be added to your total purchase."

I swear I will never NEVER buy anything from Damak again, and will see to it that I give them at least $5,000 worth of free publicity in the form of alerting the public to their misleading business practices.

Beware: Damark is not up front about their charges.
