I wish I had read this story before I bought my grandson a Sony Laptop for Christmas 2001.  We are locked in battle with CompUsa at this moment in time.  Supposedly they have destroyed his computer with an extra 512 mg memory and an extra battery which cost me 280.00 at CompUsa.  They advised him to mail the computer "as is - dont remove anything as that might be where the problem is."  Now they have no record of receivng this extra equipment.  I told the man at headquarters this am, I don't give a d___ what your workorder says, I was on the phone along with my grandson and I heard the tech tell him to mail the entire computer.  He advised them all along not to destroy his hard drive as he is in the Marine Corps and had pictures he hand not downloaded to a disk. They were on deployment and cannot be replaced.  They said they would replace the motherboard and return it to him - - - NO
now they say it has been destroyed.   The battle is on.  I am glad our military doesnt operate like compusa. Thanks for your story.
